Tiyatro, müzik, girişimcilik, eğitim ve teknoloji kültürü alanlarında, çeşitli başarılara ve ilgi alanlarına sahip çok yönlü bir sanatçı olan Dmitri Garin, eşsiz geçmişi ve becerileri, olağanüstü projeler oluşturmak için teknik ve yaratıcı unsurları harmanlamasıyla tanınmıştır.

Garin’in yolculuğu, müziğe erken ilgi duyması ve 12 yaşında kaset çalarlar, analog Sovyet sentezleyicileri ile deneyler yaptığı Sovyet Rusya’da başladı. Eğitimini Moskova Mühendislik Fizik Enstitüsü’nde (MEPhI) sürdürüp, 1997’de lisans derecesi aldı. Daha sonra 2005 yılında Berklee Müzik Koleji film, oyun ve televizyon için müzik kompozisyonu alanında yüksek lisans derecesini aldı.

İsveç’teki Polar Studios‘ta stajını tamamladıktan sonra Garin, asit evi türüne odaklanan Asit Mafyası projesini kurdu. Bu proje, 1990’ların elektronik müzik sahnesine dayanan benzersiz ve nostaljik temeli, klasik davul makineleri ve birincil donanım olarak bas sentezleyicileri ile öne çıkmıştır.

Garin’in dikkat çekici özelliklerinden biri de, teknik uzmanlığı yaratıcı arayışlarla harmanlama yeteneğidir. Yammer, Yota ve Microsoft gibi şirketlerle olan BT geçmişinin yanı sıra olağanüstü bir besteci ve ses tasarımcısıdır. Genellikle Kirill Serebrennikov, Filipp Grigoryan, Oleg Nesterov, Vladimir Martynov, Alexei Devianin (diğer adıyla Pixelord) ve Sergei Saburov (diğer adıyla Saburov) gibi ünlü isimlerle iş birliği yaparak gürültü efektleri ve psikoakustik tasarımı konusunda uzmanlaşmıştır.

2004 Yılında Garin, Alexei Devianin ve Sergei Saburov ile Hyperboloid Records’un kurucu ortağıydı. Etiket deneysel elektronik müziğe odaklanıyor ve Internetghetto Records (tahmini) adlı alt bölümleri var. 2014) ve Aelita Kayıtları (tahmini. 2020). Hyperboloid Records, 2015 ve 2017 yıllarında Jagermeister Müzik Ödülleri’nde “Yılın Etiketi” kategorisini kazanarak tanınırlık kazandı. Husky, IC3PEAK ve Nikita Zabelin gibi ulusal olarak tanınan sanatçılarla işbirliği yaptı.

Garin’in Larissa Melikiants ile işbirliği, 2004 yılında elektronik müzik ve görsel-işitsel sanatları birleştiren “aBraKaDaBrA” müzik festivali’nin kurulmasına yol açtı. 2004-2009 yılları arasında festivalin müzik direktörü olarak görev yaptı. Garin, Moskova’daki Yeni Müzik Stüdyosu ile yaptığı işbirliği sayesinde Edgar Varese, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Kanada Kurulları ve daha birçokları gibi modern elektronik müzisyenleri ve bestecileri ilk kez Rusya’daki yaratıcı sahneye tanıttı.

8-11 Temmuz tarihleri arasında İstanbul’da düzenlenecek olan EV Uluslararası Çağdaş Sanat Sergisine Dmitri Garin sanatçı olarak katılacak. Özellikle sanat mekanının ve galerinin ortam seslerine odaklanan soyut sesleri ve yorumlarıyla tüm etkinliği zenginleştirecek. Bu katkı çok önemlidir, çünkü onsuz etkinlik, üretime ve yaratıcı işbirliğine alternatif bir boyut katan hayati bir unsurdan yoksun olacaktır.

Garin, sessizliğin özünü kullanma ve onu analog frekanslara çevirme konusunda dikkate değer bir yeteneğe sahiptir. “Dmitri Garin: The Multi-Talented Maestro Pushing Boundaries in Theatre, Music, and Technology Culture”

Dmitri Garin is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of accomplishments and interests in the fields of theatre, music, entrepreneurship, education, and technology culture. His unique background and skills allow him to blend technical and creative elements to create exceptional projects.

Garin’s journey began in Soviet Russia, where he developed an early interest in music and experimented with cassette players and analogue Soviet synthesisers at the age of 12. He pursued his education at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI), earning a BA degree in 1997. Later, in 2005, he attended the Berklee College of Music to obtain a Master’s degree in music composition for film, games, and television.

After completing an internship at Polar Studios in Sweden, Garin founded the Acid Mafia project, focusing on the acid house genre. This project stands out for its unique and nostalgic foundation rooted in the 1990s electronic music scene, with vintage drum machines and bass synthesisers as the primary gear.

One of Garin’s remarkable qualities is his ability to blend technical expertise with creative pursuits. Alongside his IT background with companies like Yammer, Yota, and Microsoft, he is an exceptional composer and sound designer. He specialises in noise effects and the design of psychoacoustics, often collaborating with renowned figures such as Kirill Serebrennikov, Filipp Grigoryan, Oleg Nesterov, Vladimir Martynov, Alexei Devianin (aka Pixelord), and Sergei Saburov (aka Saburov).

In 2004, Garin co-founded Hyperboloid Records with Alexei Devianin and Sergei Saburov. The label focuses on experimental electronic music and has subdivisions named Internetghetto Records (est. 2014) and Aelita Records (est. 2020). Hyperboloid Records has gained recognition, winning the “Label of the Year” category at the Jagermeister Music Awards in 2015 and 2017. It has collaborated with nationally recognized artists such as Husky, IC3PEAK, and Nikita Zabelin.

Garin’s collaboration with Larissa Melikiants led to the creation of the “aBraCaDaBrA” music festival in 2004, which combines electronic music and audio-visual arts. He served as the music director for the festival from 2004 to 2009. Through his collaboration with the New Music Studio in Moscow, Garin introduced modern electronic musicians and composers like Edgar Varese, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Boards of Canada, and many more to the creative stage in Russia for the first time.

In the upcoming EV International Contemporary Art Exhibition in Istanbul, which will be held from 8 to 11 of July, Dmitri Garin will be participating as an artist. He will enhance the entire event with his abstract sounds and interpretations, specifically focusing on the ambient sounds of the art space and gallery. This contribution is crucial, as without it, the event would lack a vital element that adds an alternative dimension to the production and creative collaboration.

Garin possesses a remarkable ability to harness the essence of silence and translate it into analog frequencies.
